Get Great Tickets on StubHub.com! I just wanted to drop a reminder to any parents out there who’s kids were interested in playing youth football this year that signups will be this weekend Saturday, July 26 from 7-11 a.m. The youth football league signups will be held at the entrance to the Bellmont High School Baseball field. Football equipment sizing and distribution will also be held at this time. Physical forms will be accepted as well. Your child must complete a physical before they can begin practicing with their football team. Physicals will also be give on site during the alternate youth football signups, July 30 from 6-8 p.m. Physicals will cost $10 and will be given in the lobby of the Bellmont High School gymnasium. All 5th and 6th graders should come prepared for a skills test that will be administered during the 2008 Decatur football league registration. It is recommended to wear running shoes or cleats. Further question regarding the DFL should be directed to the Decatur Football League president Bill Pogue at 728-2515. If you’ve never been involved in the DFL stop by some Saturday in September and watch these youngsters play. I’ll never forget the fun my wife and I had when our son played. Sometimes I think the parents attending the football games have more fun than the kids.

Guess all the stories about Chris Hakes have been resolved now. I’m still left in the dark.

Well don’t think they are resolved were kind of in a holding pattern until some news comes from the school board or the school year starts and answers our questions. Once I’ve heard something I will post it. I’m sure if other news breaks and I miss it someone will comment on it

Everyone, please make sure you check your kids head for lice after the equipment sizing. Found out the hard way! lol Got smart and bought our own helmet the following yr. DFL is a nicely organized league. We had alot of fun during those yrs.

same thing happened with little league baseball and now each player is required to provide his own batting helmet.
