It ssems to me that the current leaders of Decatur should be trying to attract companies who manufacture GREEN products such as solar panels, wind mills, enviromentally friendly insulation and other such products. The infastructure and work force are present within the community for such industries and Decatur is centrally located within the Midwest which would help with lead times and freight issues. The leaders past and present had to realize that industries such as Fleetwood, Goldshield and Thunderbird were not going to support their community during hard times. Former Mayor Isch should have worked on attracting diiferent industries once NAFTA was signed during The Clinton Administration's first term. Green is the way of the future and more importantly a SUSTAINABLE FUTURE. Mayor Schultz and the current leaders of Adams County would be doing exactly what they were elected to do if they could attract such industries.

Concerned Mom: While Mayor Schultz may have an open door policy, and I do hope that EVERONE who has lost their job recently will ALL go to his office at one time to take advantage of this open door policy to inform him that Decatur is in an economic depression, HE should already be fully knowledgeable of this 'economic climate' that this town is in and keep the public abreast of HIS plans to help alleviate the sorrow as well as to help restore 'job growth' to this City and it's population. I have seen no headlines in our local media to this effect. Mayor Suzanne Handshoe of Kendalville HAS taken the lead in her town to try to help the people with the dismal job climate! Maybe Mayor Schultz need to have conference with her on the phone as she could most likely give him some advice on helping the Citizens of this City through these bad economic times. Mayor Schultz needs to devise at least a 'lieflet brochure' to send to potential businesses that this City could appeal to, in order to present to them the benefits of locating their business venture and known large scale Company venture's to Decatur. Point out the vast and diverse workforce that is ready and able to go to work with the 'solid work ethic' that was nurtured into families from their parents in this City that WE still call home, DECATUR!!! Well, there is a start and now Mayor Schultz and HIS 'Economic Team' need to 'tool' the nuts and bolts into it to present it to potential large scale Company employers! I know that if he tries, Mayor Schultz can SUCCEED where the former administration did not even try !

George, I understand that Mayor Schultz has an open door policy. Is there any way you can see him to voice your concerns?

The Economic problems of this town in the 'private sector' are now at emergency levels in all aspects!!!! Please, Mr. Wimzit Administrator. Pose questions to Mayor Schultz on getting Economic action going in this town for Job Creation in this sector of our Economy. I beg of Mayor Schultz not to be like the disgrace that former Mayor Isch was when it came to attempting to attract Large Scale Good Paying Industrial Jobs to this City!!!!
